We are seeking a highly motivated Group ESG controller to join our team. In this role, reporting to the Head of Group Accounting, you are responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing ESG reporting across all business units within the Group. This role includes ensuring compliance with European ESG standards EU Taxonomy, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and the European Green Deal and collaborating with others in driving initiatives that support the company’s sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and oversee group-wide ESG reporting
- Oversee and manage the collection, analysis, and reporting of ESG data across various business units
- Ensure compliance with national and international ESG standards and regulations
- Prepare and present ESG reports to stakeholders, including management, regulators, creditors, and internal teams
- Manage relationships with external ESG auditors and consultants
- Collaborate with management and others in the regular update of the Group’s ESG strategy
- Support the implementation of the Group’s ESG strategy, particularly as regards the monitoring of relevant KPIs and the sufficiency of initiatives to deliver on the overall quantitative goals the Group has set in its Group’s ESG strategy
- Stay informed about new ESG trends, policies, and technologies to continuously improve the company's ESG performance
- Train and mentor staff on ESG policies and best practices
- Work with our communication team to share our ESG successes and strategies in an engaging way
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, environmental science, sustainability, or related field; master’s degree preferred
- Proven experience in ESG, sustainability, or a related field
- Strong understanding of European ESG reporting standards and frameworks such as the EU Taxonomy, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and the European Green Deal
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Demonstrated project management abilities
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
- Professional certifications related to sustainability or corporate social responsibility are advantageous
- Proficient in English. Knowledge of a Scandinavian language and/or German is an advantage
